We will be starting at the very beginning. Installing a software can be a bit intimidating if you've never done it before. No worries! I will guide you through.
Please note, I use Blender 3.5 for this installment. Follow these instructions below as you go through the beginning of the lesson.
When you are at the Blender website, click 'Download' and then click 'Looking for previous versions?'. Then click 'Download any Blender'. After that, you must scroll down the index of previous releases until you see Blender 3.5. After clicking Blender 3.5, choose the correct zip file based on the kind of computer you have (Windows, Linux, or Mac).
Then finally you can continue on with the lesson. Hope this helps. Honestly, I know it might be confusing at first so reach out to me if you get stuck.
This lesson will be very basic. A simple 3d book is what you will have by the end of this lesson. You will also have a thorough explanation of how the user interface works in Blender (at least for 3d modelling).
In order to texture, you have to UV map your models first. In this lesson, we will cut and unwrap our book and prep it for texture painting. This step is a must. Do not skip it. :)
In this lesson, I explain the purpose of utilizing the asset library and why it is beneficial for your workflow.
In this lesson, you will learn how I texture paint my 3d models. Texture painting is basically virtual painting your 3d models. As technical as it sounds, it is actually fun once you get the hang of it. You might want to have a drawing tablet for these particular lessons. However, I demonstrate how you can achieve results using a mouse as well.
For this lesson, I will walk you through step by step on how to model a scene for the book that you made using references.
Adding those finishing touches to your 3d scene is what makes everything come together in this lesson. You will have a complete 3d scene that is polished, rendered, and ready for sharing on your portfolio.
